Your residence visit checklist

Bring the same questions to each visit. Record the date, person you spoke with and what still needs a written answer.

Care and everyday support

  • What support is included, and what is an additional charge?
  • Who assesses care needs, and how often are they reviewed?
  • Which staff are available overnight and in an emergency?
  • How are medications supported and documented?
  • What happens if mobility, memory or other needs change?

Costs and agreements

  • Can we have an itemized written monthly quote?
  • What deposits, setup fees and annual increases apply?
  • Which services are optional, and how are they billed?
  • What are the cancellation, notice and refund terms?

Home and daily life

  • Is the suite accessible for current and future mobility needs?
  • Can dietary, cultural and language preferences be accommodated?
  • What are the visitor, pet and overnight-guest policies?
  • Are transport, laundry, internet and housekeeping included?
  • What activities, outdoor areas and quiet spaces are available?

Confidence and next steps

  • Where can we review licensing and inspection information?
  • How are concerns raised and resolved?
  • Can we visit again or speak with the care lead?
  • What availability is confirmed, and what is the next step?
